Welcome 2010!

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to a new decade. I had some much needed time off and had a great time hanging out with family. It was great to be able to stay in my pj's, play games with the girls, reorganize the girls rooms, and watch some football with the hubs! What a great start to the new year! I pray you had the same restful time with your families and are looking forward to the new year and what God has in store for you and your family.

Our staff is starting the new year off by coming together to fast and pray for 21 days asking for God's guidance for the new year. Some people are fasting from all food, some are giving up twitter, facebook, sweets. My husband and I have chosen to do the Daniel Fast. We will be eating fruits, vegetables and drinking water for 21 days. I have to admit that I am a carb junkie and love my diet vanilla Pepsi. It is going to be hard, but isn't that what it is all about? God asks us to give up what we love so we will grow closer to him. I am excited to see what God does in me and our staff these 21 days.

If you would like to join in you are welcome. Each day we are reading a chapter of John and will have something to pray for. I will be posting what we are praying for everyday. Take time to pray, asking God what you should give up so he can speak to you. Fasting is a personal issue between you and God. Seek him and he will guide you in what you should do.

January 4: Reading John 1

As the New Year begins, ask God for your “One Thing” that you can do in this coming year. Make sure to talk it over with your loved ones and Life Group. Go public with your “one thing” and ask for support to achieve it.
